Motion graphics is most likely a term you have heard before. It can be a logo animation, a simple moving graphic on a website or a text animation in a video. The reality is that technology and design have far surpassed what was typically known as motion graphics, and motion design has evolved as a direct result of technology improvements.
Basically, motion design is dealing with graphics that are moving in space and time, and designing how it all looks.
What about animation ? What is the difference ? The line between animation and motion design has always been blurry. Traditional animation generally creates characters who tell the story and express themselves. Motion design tends to use graphics to move the plot along, and tends to be more abstract or symbol based than animation.
